For the past 8 years we have been working in partnership with Choice International on projects in the UK and India promoting equality, diversity and social inclusion through the following initiatives:
Promoting disability sports, inclusive fitness and diversity in East London and Leicestershire
We deliver regular sessions in Wheelchair Basketball and fitness in East London and Leicester; bringing together diverse communities, disabled and non-disabled people to engage on a level playing field. All ages and abilities are welcome to experience disability sports and fitness. For some, it is the very first time they experience sports;
“I want to play sports and know some disabled people I can invite too, my only worry was about my clothing and if it is appropriate to wear what I like to, as opposed to sports clothes. I was also hesitant to join any sports clubs, but today has given me the opportunity to have a go and experience what it’s like”,

Inclusive Sports Challenge
This is a team building day using disability sports as a tool, an opportunity to build your team and enhance their spirit using inclusiveness and sport. Participants also learn about disability in a fun and challenging, yet educational way. They are able to develop interpersonal skills including; communication, confidence building, teamwork, leadership and problem solving.
Viewing the world from a wheelchair enables them to improve as a person and as a team, having fun and developing collaborative skills in a unique way.
“A really useful and insightful day, the perfect balance of fun and educational information”

In partnership with Choice International we initiated disability sports development in India via coaching workshops in 2013. Following this, we introduced wheelchair basketball more formally, alongside the establishment of the Wheelchair Basketball Federation of India (WBFI). The sport has been progressing, with over 1000 disabled people now playing across the country and national teams entering tournaments. You can find out more about this development here.
